![]() ![]() SIBO pain can be excruciating, and it's a somewhat newer diagnosis (minimal attention paid to it before the last 10ish years) so plenty of docs don't think to look for it. (Gut ripping itself out, expelling the demonic thing, lasting bloating and gas.I would be shocked if it's not SIBO.) But it sounds very painful, and it sounds a lot like SIBO. I'll be honest, this doesn’t sound like IBD at all. Your symptoms, especially the way you're describing your pain and bloating, are hallmarks of SIBO (and less so with IBD). SIBO = small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. It's separate from IBD, although people with IBD and IBS definitely get it and it complicates the situation. ![]() Up to twenty bloody, loose bowel movements a day Growth retardation in younger teens, due to lack of nutrition Intermittent episodes of bloody, mucus-like stool Pain and cramping in the left side of the abdomen Swelling, pain, stiffness in the knees and anklesĭelayed growth and sexual development in younger teens, due to lack of nutrition Symptoms that Suggest Inflammatory Bowel Disease may include:Ĭramping abdominal pain and tenderness, particularly after mealsĪppetite loss possibly leading to weight loss Symptoms that Suggest Irritable Bowel Syndrome may include:Ĭramplike pain and spasms in the lower abdomenĪlternating bouts of diarrhea and constipation "with IBS you have cramping before you go have to to to the bathroom (BM) and with Crohn's it is afterwards." Not sure how true this is, but I saved this comment someone posted that their Dr (supposedly) told them: What do you guys think? Does this reside with your symptoms at all or does the IBS diagnosis still seem most likely? I’m really worried about this and honestly its what made me reconsider my diagnosis. It’s a light red or orange and seems to be leaking from the stool or around it. I do have hemroids but I haven’t felt any pain from the one that I KNOW about. My stools are super inconsistent and can be anything, but lately I have gotten blood (maybe?) in my stool. I also get hot with hives but that usually goes away within an hour. (Usually during an episode or if my gut doesn’t approve of something I had eaten), it fades usually in an hour. ![]() I get occasional nausea but I’ve never puked or anything from it. I get excessive bloating and the gas pains hangs around even when I’m not in an episode. All I can do is expel whatever demonic thing I have within me and wait out the pain. I can only describe this pain as my gut committing self suicide and ripping itself out. The pain is excruciating, and has brought me to tears on many occasions. The episodes last for hours sometimes or are as short as around 45 mins. Sometimes just constipation or diarrhea, sometimes both at the same time. So my episodes consist of both constipation and diarrhea. I am getting a colonoscopy in a few months and I understand you can’t diagnose but I wanted to hear your thoughts on this, and if maybe anything resided. But lately I have been questioning this diagnosis. I was diagnosed with IBS when I was a young teen (12-13) and I have been content with that diagnosis and have been treating it ever since. Hey everyone!! (20F) have a question for you folks with IBD. ![]()
